Take a step back in time and make yourself comfortable in the iconic Farmhouse, also known as the Larkin’s family home, which featured in the beloved 90’s hit TV show ‘The Darling Buds of May’.

Millions of us would book a date in front of our television, on a Sunday night, to share the adventures and lovable roguish exploits of Pop and Ma Larkin, and their family, as it played out in some the most idyllic Kentish countryside. Now you can too can keep the outside world at arm’s length and experience the good life for a few ‘Perfick’ days, in the 35 acres of stunning Countryside that Darling Buds Farm has to offer.

This stunning historic Grade II listed building was carefully restored in 2014, to keep its former charm and characteristics in place, and provide the ‘Perfick’ self-catering holiday home. Offering 5 beautifully decorated bedrooms, a large open-plan living/dining area with traditional Oak beams and grand fireplace, a large private garden with stunning views, and a fully equipped kitchen suitable for Ma Larkin herself!

Out of the 5 delightful bedrooms, which can all be made as twin or double beds, 3 bedrooms have their own private ensuite and the other 2 bedrooms have use of the upstairs family bathroom. 1 bedroom is situated on the ground floor and the other 4 bedrooms are on the first floor with the family bathroom.

On the ground floor, you enter through a hallway with traditional brick flooring and then you will discover a gorgeous well-equipped farmhouse kitchen with views out to the garden and the pond where the ducks dabble. They know very well to wander across to the kitchen windows at breakfast time just in case there is any toast going spare! The large lounge and dining area has a wealth of oak beams and an oak floor. Here you can relax around the huge brick inglenook fireplace with a woodburner to toast up the whole house on chillier days. You have your own private garden with patio seating. Pop would have approved!

Gather round the family dining table and take time to catch up over dinner. There will be plenty to reflect on as there is so much to do and see in the local area. Kent has so much to offer. The delightful old town, Tenterden, ‘The Jewel of the Weald’ is 6 miles away with its boutique shopping and the famous Kent and East Sussex steam railway to keep you busy, plus and there are the vineyards (including Biddenden Vineyards and Chapel Down) to consider. The South of England Rare Breeds Centre, gardens (including Sissinghurst) and a plethora of National Trust homes and castles await exploration. Visit the beaches at Camber Sands or sample oysters and hire bikes at Whitstable. The high-speed train to London takes 38 minutes for further sightseeing opportunities or sample lunch in Paris via the Eurostar. Altogether “Perfick!”, as the Larkins would say! Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Each one of the 5 bedrooms can be configured as either a double or twin room. One of the non-ensuite rooms is on the ground floor.

3 bedrooms are ensuite bathrooms with a private shower. The other 2 bedrooms are serviced by a family bathroom with bath.
